Why did God give us free will and the ability to harm one another?

God's presence in your world is that of a creative, loving, bonding force, a force who encourages good, who impels you towards good through whatever means necessary, who provides choices, provides the shadow and the light so that you will learn to choose correctly.

That is God's gift to this realm, God's grand experiment in love; providing you with free will and allowing you to choose your own directions.

Because you've been given the gift of free will, you are free to travel errant paths, free to choose to injure and destroy one another and your beautiful home.

You have the gift of free will to use or to abuse. Verily, free will brings with it the need to learn, to gradually learn over time to love and not to harm, to learn where the path lies.

When you ultimately travel the high path of love you will have perfected yourself - perfected yourself not through rituals, nor chants, nor by any other means except by learning to love.

And learning to love involves trying, failing, trying again, failing once again, then trying and achieving a partial success, then another partial success, until the efforts are whole, and in alignment with the love that is your God, your God within.

Love is the all of God and God is the love of all!
