What are attitudes and how do they work in reality?

All love is here, the love of asking an important question.

Attitudes are navigational aids, like rudders, steering the ship of self through the sea, through the flowing currents of reality’s possible upwellings.

Reality is always in the process of taking form, a sea of resource, a sea of possibility in which the self resides.

From that upwelling, from the nutrients and building blocks always present, self selects and attaches itself to particular combinations of possibilities depending upon its attitude towards its place in the sea, its perception of the limitless nature of resource, or its perceptions of its own and reality's limitations.

When the mind is opened, when the attitudes are made limitless, one can joyously select from the immense possibilities provided in each and every moment.

When the attitudes are closed, when self is barricaded and rejects important areas of its own possibility, then there is a negative stasis, of staying in one place, of treading water.

When one is treading water, there is the constant fear of sinking, which is real, for one must exert a lot of anxious energy to tread water.

But to be positive is to expand and gain a natural buoyancy, allowing one to joyously participate in the flow.

A negative attitude limits and adds weight to the being; one must struggle more and more to stay in the same place. A positive attitude opens, lightens, provides - allows one to drift into the serendipity of resources, of unseen forces working for the happiness and betterment of the soul.

One then can be heavy, limited and obsessed by the fear of sinking, or one can be positive, open and trusting, thereby allowing oneself the opportunity to flow into circumstances that are far better than could have been consciously devised and anticipated.
